Police on Thursday claimed that Obaidul Kader, the prime suspect in the murder of Willes Little Flower School student Suraiya Akter Risha, has confessed his crime during primary interrogation.
Earlier, a Dhaka court today granted Obaidul on a 6-day remand in connection with the killing of Suraiya Akter Risha, a student of Willes Little Flower School.
Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain passed the order after Inspector (investigation) Ali Hossain of Ramna Police Station produced Obaidul before it with a 10-day remand prayer.
The eighth grader was stabbed near her school under broad daylight. A few days after struggling for her life in the hospital, Risha breathed her last on August 28.
Risha’s mother filed a case against Obaidul. She accused him, a tailor shop employee in Dhaka, of stalking and harassing her daughter through mobile phone.
Finally, after days of remaining on the run, Obaidul was arrested from his hometown Nilphamari yesterday.
Meanwhile in Dhaka today, students of Willes Little Flower School continued their demonstration forming a human chain in front of their school in Kakrail demanding justice.
They have been agitating since the incident and threatened to go tougher if necessary.
